Leave Feeling Lighter and Inspired:

“I didn’t realize how loud my inner critic was until this workshop. The simple act of giving it a ‘seat in the corner’ freed me up to actually play again. I felt lighter, more creative, and more connected to myself than I have in years.”
-Marie G.
RECLAIMING YOUR ESSENTIAL SELF
Why This Experience Might Be Exactly What You Need:

LET GO OF THE INNER CRITIC

CONNECT WITH YOUR ESSENTIAL SELF

ENTER THE FLOW STATE

RELEASE WHAT NO LONGER SERVES YOU
Creative exploration often stirs up old emotions and stories. This session gives you safe, gentle tools to acknowledge and release them — so you can make room for joy, clarity, and inner peace.

RESTORE BALANCE & CALM
These practices help regulate your nervous system, ease tension, and create a sense of lightness in body and mind. You’ll leave with tools you can return to whenever you feel stressed or disconnected.

REDISCOVER YOUR PLAYFUL SPIRIT
When was the last time you allowed yourself to simply play? In this class, you’ll reconnect with the part of you that laughs, experiments, and creates without pressure — your inner child who remembers how to be free.
“The combination of the meditation from Kathryn and the creative exercises from Priscila was powerful. I usually judge everything I make, but here I felt safe to experiment without pressure. I left with a new sense of freedom.”
Daniel R.

Behind the Experience
Perfectionism used to hold me captive, whispering that nothing I created was ever good enough. I rarely finished a piece, and over time, I felt disconnected from myself and my creativity.
Then, during a therapy session, I received a message in meditation: “Trust and Let Go.” It felt like a quiet invitation—one I decided to follow by making art with one rule: finish it within a week. No perfection, just presence.
What unfolded was transformative. I began weaving in intention, meditation, journaling, and movement. Each finished piece helped me release fear, reconnect with my soul, and express what words couldn’t.
In 12 weeks, I created more than I had in years—and felt more alive than ever.
This journey became the heart of The Letting Go Art Experience, which I now offer to help others move through creative blocks and into deeper self-connection. As a certified Art Life Coach, I guide participants in my studio, online, and at retreats.
It’s also the foundation of the Lighten Up Retreat, where I join Kathryn to create a week of deep creative exploration, mindfulness, and self-discovery in the Costa Rican cloud forest. Together, we help people reconnect with joy, play, and their authentic voice—feeling lighter, freer, and more alive.
Whether in a class, a workshop, or a retreat, I invite you to reconnect, play, and trust your own creative process.

Behind the Experience
For years, I felt lost in the chaos of life—unable to find peace within myself. My childhood was challenging, and by my teens, I struggled with depression and anxiety, unsure how to feel safe in my own mind and body.
Everything began to shift when I discovered meditation through a mind development course. For the first time, I felt calm, capable, and hopeful. I learned to breathe, visualize, and move with intention, and slowly, my life began to transform.
Meditation has been my guiding thread ever since—through heartbreak, parenting, travel, and all the ups and downs life brings. It’s this practice that allows me to reconnect with my own peace and joy, and it’s what I love to share with others.
You may know me from Insight Timer, the Sedona Yoga Festival, or a Kaiser Permanente wellness class. I’m a published author of Befriend Yourself: The Self Love Path to Peace, a certified meditation instructor, Health Educator, and creator of the Tranquil Me meditation app. My mission is simple: to help you find a meditation practice that fits your life and leads you back to your own inner calm.
At the Lighten Up Retreat, I guide participants to reconnect with themselves—to feel lighter, freer, and more alive—through meditation, mindfulness, and self-care practices that cultivate lasting peace and joy.

“This was more than an art class—it was a healing experience. I laughed, I created, and I released so much self-doubt. The reminders to breathe and stay present kept me grounded. I walked away feeling calm, inspired, and alive.”

You Might Be Wondering…
To fully participate in this session, we recommend bringing:
Paints – Acrylics are ideal, but watercolor, tempera, or any paint you already have will work.
Paper for painting – Go as large as you comfortably can. (No need for expensive paper — anything sturdy enough to hold paint without tearing is perfect. Even a cardboard panel works!)
Brushes and tools – Paintbrushes, sponges, palette knives, foam sticks, an old toothbrush… get creative with what you have on hand.
Cup of water – For rinsing brushes.
Towel or paper towels – For wiping brushes or hands.
Journal and pen – To jot down reflections, insights, or notes from the exercises.
Water bottle – Stay hydrated while you create.
Something to protect your space – A drop cloth, old newspaper, or an apron/clothes you don’t mind getting paint on.
This experience is designed to help you quiet the inner critic and reconnect with your creative flow. During our time together, you can expect:
Guided meditation – A gentle meditation to calm your mind, center your body, and bring you into the present moment.
Guided creative exercises – Playful, process-based painting activities where perfection doesn’t matter. You’ll experiment, make marks, explore color, and let intuition lead the way.
The Inner Critic Chair practice – A powerful visualization tool to help you notice, acknowledge, and release self-doubt while you create.
Journaling prompts – Space to reflect on your experience, insights, and emotional shifts during the session.
Sharing circle (optional) – A chance to connect with others, witness different perspectives, and integrate what you discovered.
This is not about creating “pretty” art — it’s about exploring, expressing, and finding joy in the process.
You don’t need to be “artistic” to benefit from this experience. This isn’t about talent — it’s about reconnecting with a part of yourself that may have been quiet for too long. Creativity lives in everyone, and this is a safe space to rediscover yours without pressure or judgment.
Tending to your creative self is not indulgent — it’s restorative. When you give yourself time to express and reconnect, you return to your life more energized, centered, and present. Honoring this part of you isn’t selfish — it’s self-sustaining.
Never unless you want to. This is a safe, supportive space where your process is your own. Some activities may invite gentle collaboration or sharing, but you will never be pressured. You’re always free to create, reflect, and process in the way that feels right for you.
We’ll be working with expressive, process-based painting — which means it’s less about creating something that looks “perfect” and more about exploring your own creative flow.
You’ll be using paints (acrylics or whatever you have on hand) on paper, guided through playful prompts that encourage freedom, intuition, and experimentation.
Think bold strokes, surprising textures, and “what happens if I try this?” moments — rather than trying to paint something realistic or polished.
The goal isn’t a masterpiece for the wall — it’s giving yourself permission to create without judgment, reconnecting with your joy, and discovering what unfolds when you let go of the rules.
That’s completely okay — and actually very natural. Creativity often opens the door to emotions we don’t usually give space to.
In our sessions, you’ll always be in a safe, compassionate environment where everything is welcome but nothing is forced. You’ll never be asked to share more than you feel comfortable with.
Since this class is online, you also have the freedom to mute yourself or take a short break whenever you need. This is your time, and your well-being is the priority.
